UNICEF said on 1 October that a drone strike the previous night at the Al Mina Al Bari displacement shelter in Al Obeid, Sudan’s North Kordofan, reportedly killed one boy and injured 12 children. The injured included five boys and seven girls.

The agency said many families at displacement sites had already fled repeatedly and faced difficulties accessing essential services. It called for civilians and civilian infrastructure to be protected. The release reports casualties without identifying the party responsible for the strike.
