# Spain’s enterprise turnover index rose 8.1% in adjusted August data

Spain’s general enterprise turnover index rose 8.1% year on year in August 2026 in the seasonally and calendar-adjusted series, according to provisional INE data released on October 19. The original series rose 9.1% year on year. The adjusted series increased 1.8% from July.

The ICNE combines turnover in mining and manufacturing, electricity and water supply, trade and non-financial market services. It measures business turnover, rather than production volume. The adjusted monthly change and the annual change in the original series use different comparisons.

Methodology: INE provisional August 2026 data are used. Annual 8.1% and monthly 1.8% changes are seasonally and calendar adjusted; annual 9.1% is from the original series. Annual comparisons use August 2025, and the monthly comparison uses July 2026.
