# Russia’s weekly consumer price index rose 0.96% in the week to 5 October

Rosstat estimated that the consumer price index increased 0.96% from the previous registration date during 29 September–5 October. The index was up 0.90% from the start of October through 5 October and 5.94% since the beginning of the year.

Tomato prices rose 3.7% during the week, eggs 2.2% and canned meat for baby food 1.6%; the fruit and vegetable group fell by an average 0.6%. Motor gasoline increased 0.3%, while diesel fell 0.1%. The estimate draws on weekly price registrations for 110 representative goods and services in 280 cities.
