# Piauí popular restaurants raise daily meal capacity to 8,100

The Piauí state government says the opening of the Promorar popular restaurant in southern Teresina raised the network’s daily capacity from about 6,450 to 8,100 meals. In a release dated October 17, it said four restaurants can each serve 1,650 meals a day; the Betinho restaurant in central Teresina has capacity for 1,000, while the community kitchen at the State University of Piauí can serve 500.

The government reported that the network served more than 2.6 million meals between 2023 and 2025. Breakfast at the four restaurants costs 0.50 real, while lunch and dinner cost 1 real, according to the release. Officials also said technical teams check food handling, storage and nutritional standards; these are state-reported service and capacity figures.
