Palmyra’s Date and Folk Heritage Festival returned after a 16-year hiatus, running October 13–15 at the city museum. The program included date varieties from the oasis, traditional crafts, camel shows and displays about the city’s history.

Tourism officials said the festival was intended to promote Palmyra’s products and attract visitors. Farmers cited irrigation shortages and red palm weevil as challenges; the report presents the event as a cultural and tourism initiative, not proof of increased visitor numbers or agricultural output.
