Pacific central banks, financial institutions and development partners discussed implementation of the regional Inclusive Green Finance (IGF) Taxonomy in Suva, Fiji, on 9 October. The pre-COP31 side event focused on the framework’s implications for IGF data reporting, lending classifications, pilot programs and national taxonomies.

The Alliance for Financial Inclusion, Reserve Bank of Fiji, Bank of Papua New Guinea, Agence Française de Développement and Global Green Growth Institute co-hosted the event. Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu launched the framework in 2025. The meeting considered implementation options; its published account reports no new lending amount, project commitment or measured impact.
