The official release describes debt financing, rather than a grant, and says the investment remains subject to completion of finance documents and customary transaction conditions. The facility is planned to enable local production of eight Landing Craft Heavy vessels for the Australian Army under a programme contracted through 2038. The NRFC said the project is expected to create 780 additional jobs in Western Australia.
