The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) launched Batch A of its 2026 Mandatory Continuous Public Procurement Capacity Development Training Programme on 5 October in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, according to the federal ministry’s report. The course covers transparency, accountability, value for money, procurement rules and ethics under the Public Procurement Act 2007.

BPP Director-General Adebowale Adedokun said about 700 officers from across the federal public service would take part in two batches. He highlighted electronic government procurement and the bureau’s digital submission portal as tools intended to prevent corruption and strengthen oversight.

The announcement describes the start and intended content of the course, not completion or measurable improvements in procurement.
