Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman Joash Amupitan said in Abuja on 5 October that Nigeria’s national voter register had exceeded 103 million ahead of the 2027 general election, Voice of Nigeria reported. He said the three phases of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) had produced 10,772,421 new applicants, a figure still subject to Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) verification.

The commission’s phase counts were 2,611,266 in Phase I, 4,121,835 in Phase II and 3,867,997 in Phase III. INEC said the ABIS clean-up was complete and the preliminary register would be displayed for claims and objections from 9–15 October; nationwide distribution of voter cards was due to start on 9 October. These are figures reported from the commission chair, and the article does not give a separate final post-verification count.
