# Nigeria flags off distribution of two million sanitary towel packs to schoolgirls

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, launched the distribution of two million sanitary towel packs and learning materials for girls in public basic-education schools at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on 12 October. The Federal Ministry of Information said the programme covers all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The announcement also described a separate first phase of UBEC retention support: 100,000 learners are planned to receive ₦20,000 each under a ₦2bn allocation.
