Nigeria’s civil defence command in Abia pledged cooperation with licensed electrical contractors’ association LECAN against substandard installations and unlicensed practitioners. The official October 9 report says the delegation met at the command headquarters in Umuahia.

Contractors sought enforcement support concerning sellers of inferior electrical materials. The command called for actionable information and public education on safe installation standards; the report gives no new inspection results or penalty totals.
