The operator linked the decision to weather conditions associated with Hurricane Simón and an extension of the official aviation notice (NOTAM) issued by Mexico’s Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC). The notice covers every type of airport operation, rather than passenger flights alone. GAP gave 14:00 as the planned end of the closure; it did not say that the airport had reopened after that time or identify specific flight cancellations. ## Data ### Manzanillo airport operations notice Temporary closure announced by GAP because of Hurricane Simón and an extended official NOTAM. Methodology: The date, scope and planned closure time come from GAP’s October 11 notice. The time is reported as local time; no reopening is assumed. | date | label | description | status | |---|---|---|---| | 2026-10-11 | Airport closed to all operations | GAP said Manzanillo International Airport would remain closed until 14:00 local time. | scheduled | Sources: · Download data: [JSON](https://newsverum.com/api/v1/articles/manzanillo-airport-closure-hurricane-simon-october-2026/data/manzanillo-airport-closure?lang=en&format=json) · [CSV](https://newsverum.com/api/v1/articles/manzanillo-airport-closure-hurricane-simon-october-2026/data/manzanillo-airport-closure?lang=en&format=csv) ## Sources - [Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico]() (Source checked: 2026-10-11; Published: 2026-10-11) --- Cite the canonical URL above.
