The Kogi State Government said in a statement published October 9 that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo had provided NPK and urea fertilizer support to farmers across the state. The commissioner for agriculture and food security said the assistance was intended to strengthen farm production and food security.

The statement did not specify fertilizer quantities, a distribution date or the number of farmers reached. The government presented higher yields and production as intended benefits, not measured outcomes. Beneficiary Irewa Moses said the support would help reduce production costs.
