Infineon said on 21 October that it is advancing its collaboration with NVIDIA on 800-volt direct-current (VDC) architectures for AI data centres. Announced alongside NVIDIA’s GTC developer conference in Berlin, the work focuses on the high-voltage intermediate bus converter (IBC), a stage in the data-centre power delivery chain. Infineon highlighted gallium nitride (GaN) technology for this application; the announcement describes a collaboration, not a deployment.

Infineon said its GaN portfolio supports conversion ratios from 800 volts to 50, 12 and 6 volts, giving operators options when designing rack power architectures. The companies described the work as a continuation of collaboration announced in 2025 and said it also includes power-path protection. The release did not report installed systems or realized energy savings.
