NLC India Ltd. reported that its work under the government’s Special Campaign 6 had exceeded several targets by 23 October, according to a Ministry of Coal progress release published on 25 October. The campaign’s implementation phase runs from 2 to 31 October, following a preparatory phase in the second half of September. The figures are a mid-campaign snapshot, not final results for the month.

The company reported disposing of 1,272 metric tonnes of scrap against a target of 1,266.22 tonnes, generating ₹31.19 million in reported revenue. It said cleanliness drives had been identified and organized across 180 campaign sites, compared with a target of 145, while reclaimed space stood at 2,496,193 square feet against a proposed 2,415,786 square feet. The release gives these as campaign totals and does not break them down by site or identify the scrap’s composition.

The update also tracks records management. NLC India said it had reviewed 1,378 physical files and 320 electronic files, and weeded out 506 physical and 122 electronic files. It listed three process-simplification measures and 26 new initiatives, against a target of 50 initiatives. The company reported no pending public grievances at the reporting cut-off. These administrative counts are separate from the physical clean-up measures.

The same release separately describes an e-waste drive and reports 2,042 items across three categories: 1,491 information-technology and telecom items, 351 laboratory items and 200 consumer electrical, electronic and photovoltaic items. The source prints the drive date as “03.10.206,” an apparent malformed date, so this activity is not assigned to the 23 October progress cut-off. It gives no mass or final recycling destination; the item count is distinct from the scrap tonnage.

Special Campaign 6 is a central-government exercise intended to improve cleanliness and records handling while reducing pending matters in public offices. NLC India’s report presents company-level implementation figures rather than an assessment of the campaign across the coal sector. It also does not establish whether all collected material was recycled, sold or otherwise processed. The end-of-month results may differ from this 23 October snapshot.

## Data

### NLC India Special Campaign 6 progress through 23 October

Company-reported cumulative campaign measures in the Ministry of Coal update published on 25 October.

Methodology: Values reproduce NLC India’s reported totals as of 23 October. Scrap mass is a flow total; sites and e-waste are counts. Target comparisons and other figures remain in the article text. No conversion or estimate is applied. The 180-site figure is sites identified and organized for cleanliness drives, not sites already cleared. The separately reported e-waste count is excluded because its date is malformed in the source and cannot be assigned to the 23 October cutoff.
