India’s education ministry announced on 29 October 2026 that a new academic building and main entrance gate had been inaugurated at the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration in New Delhi. The facility is intended to expand the institute’s programmes and research capacity.

The ministry highlighted NIEPA’s role in monitoring implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and working with state governments on implementation challenges. Remarks at the event also stressed conceptual understanding, digital learning and skills development.

The announcement does not provide the building’s cost, floor area or number of additional places. It therefore establishes the inauguration and intended institutional role without quantifying an expansion in student capacity or claiming a measured improvement in educational outcomes.
