More than 150 people from over 80 institutions attended the Climate Science into Services for India Forum meeting on 17 October. Discussions covered information needs in water resources, agriculture and food security, disaster management, health, energy and finance, and climate projections.

The institute, under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, said the meeting was intended to strengthen links between climate research, policy and societal needs. Its account also noted discussion of a national Climate Services Information System. The consultation itself did not announce that such a system or new services had been launched.
