# Guwahati craft fair closes after showcasing 75 artisans

India’s social justice ministry reported on 29 October that an eight-day Shilp Samagam craft fair in Guwahati had concluded. It involved 75 artisans, including 31 women, and approximately 40 varieties of handloom and handicraft products.

The fair brought together crafts from the North-East and other parts of India, including textiles, bamboo, cane and leather work. It promoted direct contact between makers and buyers and the BHARAT-TULIP initiative, which links traditional artisans with physical shops and online markets.
