The agency said the operation took place on 16–17 October and targeted an alleged plan to move the consignment by sea to Sri Lanka. It estimated the illicit-market value at more than 1 billion rupees; that figure is an agency estimate. DRI also reported seizing cash and vehicles during searches.

The agency said the four people were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and remanded to judicial custody. Claims about the suspected network and smuggling plan reflect the authorities’ account of the investigation; the arrests do not establish guilt.

## Data

### Seizure and arrest figures in DRI account

DRI reported the suspected substance weight, arrests and its estimate of illicit-market value.

Methodology: The source reports 137 kg gross of suspected substance in the October 16–17 operation, four arrests and an illicit-market value estimate exceeding 100 crore INR. This is an agency estimate; 100 crore equals 1 billion rupees. Gross weight is not presented as pure-substance mass, and arrest is not conviction.

| Suspected substance seized (kg gross) | People arrested | Agency illicit-market estimate (crore INR; over 100) | Case status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 137 kg gross; suspected methamphetamine | 4 | 100 | Gross weight; substance suspected; value estimate exceeds this figure; arrests, no conviction reported |
