The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) aim to mobilize up to US$750 million in co-financing for food systems and rural transformation under an agreement announced on October 14. The amount was not presented as money disbursed to particular countries or a total of approved projects.

The institutions are developing a joint action plan to turn the target into investments. Cooperation will cover agricultural value chains, market and water access, rural finance, climate adaptation and sustainable natural-resource management, with private-sector operations and rural small and medium-sized enterprises also in scope.
