Bangladesh’s government and IFAD announced two investments worth a combined $324 million on 9 October for rural resilience and food systems. The newly launched Climate Resilience and Livelihood Enhancement Project (CRALEP) is valued at $112 million; the previously launched Growth for Climate Resilient and Environmental Entrepreneurship and Nutrition (GREEN) project is valued at $212 million. Together, the projects aim to reach 2.5 million people.

CRALEP aims to reach 1.45 million people in 33 subdistricts over six years, improving roads, rural markets and boat landing facilities while supporting early warnings and skills training. Its financing package includes $70 million from IFAD, a $10 million grant from Denmark and approximately $31.75 million from Bangladesh’s government. GREEN aims to reach more than 250,000 rural households over six years. These are project targets, not reported outcomes.
