The International Energy Agency’s October 14 report, “Powering Artificial Intelligence,” surveys data-centre integration with electricity systems across 34 policy jurisdictions. The IEA says these jurisdictions account for 90% of global data-centre capacity.

Requested by France’s G7 Presidency, the review examines how rising data-centre investment affects local power systems, electricity prices, emissions and water use. It sets out policy and regulatory principles aimed at balancing energy affordability, sustainability and security.
