# Hungary central bank keeps base rate at 5.50%

> Hungary’s central bank held its base rate at 5.50% at the Monetary Council meeting on 20 October. The overnight deposit rate remained 4.50% and the collateralised lending rate 6.50%, with the conditions effective from 21 October.
