# GoldBod says 94.6% of October small-scale gold was refined locally

The Ghana Gold Board chief executive said 94.6% of the artisanal and small-scale mining gold purchased in October had been refined locally. GoldBod bought 5.7 tonnes, and 5.4 tonnes had completed local refining. The board attributed the processing to service agreements with two privately owned Ghanaian refineries.

GoldBod said its refinery partners had processed 25 tonnes in 2026 to date, around 30% of the board’s 85.4 tonnes of ASM gold exports. The release also describes a goal of ending raw mineral exports by the close of 2030. These are the board’s reported progress figures and policy ambition, not an independently audited forecast.
