According to the Food and Agriculture Organization's Food Price Monitoring and Analysis Bulletin dated 13 October, the US Gulf export price for No. 2 Hard Red Winter wheat reached USD 349.20 per tonne in September, up 7.1% month on month and 49.8% year on year. Brazil's Paranaguá maize quotation rose 3.1% from August and stood 13.3% above its year-earlier level.

The Russian Federation's deep-sea port wheat offer fell 4.1% in September to USD 210 per tonne, 8.3% below a year earlier. FAO attributed pressure on Russian quotations to limited marketing opportunities for the large harvest and disruptions to Black Sea trade routes; higher quotations at other origins reflected buyers seeking alternative suppliers. These are export quotations, not retail or farmgate prices.
