FAO and the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) presented a USD 29.3 million programme proposal on October 14 at the 2026 Hand-in-Hand Investment Forum to support an Amazonian bioeconomy. Its target territories span Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.

The proposal aims to establish 100 digital ecosystems, directly benefit 5,000 producer families and improve conditions for another 45,000 people. It also envisages traceability technology for non-timber forest products. The source describes a proposal; it does not say the funding has been approved or implementation has begun.
