The UK government announced more than £41 million through two funds for 74 projects involving places of worship and at-risk historic buildings in England. The Places of Worship Renewal Fund will share more than £18 million among 51 recipients, while the Heritage at Risk Capital Fund will provide nearly £13 million to 20 recipients.

Projects include returning Margate Museum and the Old Town Hall to community use, repairing Dover Castle’s defences and repairing the roofs of Osborne and Brodsworth Hall. The allocation includes more than £18 million for 51 places of worship and nearly £13 million for 20 recipients of the Heritage at Risk Capital Fund; that same fund will provide a further £10 million over the remainder of the parliament for three major national heritage sites. The 51+20+3 projects total 74 sites and the announced support exceeds £41 million; the work is not yet complete.
