Figures reviewed at a committee meeting and reported on 8 October put physical gold traded in the UAE at around 2,750 tonnes. WAM said this ranked the country second among global physical gold trading hubs and estimated that 13–15% of gold traded worldwide passes through Dubai annually. The six strategic directions reviewed at the meeting cover the gold value chain, including supply, refining, trading, storage, finance, pricing, digital tokenisation and retail. The committee will identify actionable initiatives, define roles and partners, and propose a governance model and execution timelines.
