DIFC Innovation Hub and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre selected 10 scale-ups for a geospatial technology accelerator that will develop pilot projects with UAE organisations. The partners announced the selection on October 23, 2026. The programme is part of the Space for Earth Labs platform, established with Relm Insurance to connect Earth-observation data and artificial intelligence with operational needs.

The accelerator received 73 applications from 24 countries. The organisers said 63 applications were valid and 45 advanced to interviews before the cohort was selected. Those figures describe the application process; the announcement does not give a success rate for any completed pilots because the projects are now moving into proof-of-concept work.

The 10 selected scale-ups are to be matched with three public entities: FADA, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure’s National Maritime Centre, and Dubai Civil Defence. Two private organisations, Buro Happold and Liva Insurance, are also named as participating partners. The planned pilots cover maritime and infrastructure, insurance and risk, the built environment, public safety and geospatial intelligence.

The initiative is designed to give selected companies access to operational challenges and potential institutional customers. The partners say the pilots will test whether space-derived data and related tools can be applied to those use cases. The release does not specify pilot budgets, timelines, procurement commitments or deployment decisions, so selection should not be treated as a contract award or a completed implementation.

The announcement also places the accelerator in the context of a larger commercial market. It attributes to estimates a USD 440 billion contribution from Earth observation to global GDP and a 19.5% annual growth forecast through 2028 for the broader AI-in-geospatial market. These are market estimates and forecasts cited in the release, not results measured by this Dubai programme.

The next substantive milestone will be evidence from the proof-of-concept pilots: which applications are tested, what data and performance measures they use, and whether partners decide to continue. For now, the release documents the selected cohort, the intended institutional pairings and the programme’s proposed route from applications to pilots, while commercial outcomes remain unreported.

The selected group comprises AtlasAI, FlyPix AI, Geospatial Insight, GHGSat, Latitudo40, Little Place Labs, SatSure, SparkGeo, Stellaria and V-Nova. The named UAE counterparts are FADA, the National Maritime Centre, Dubai Civil Defence, Buro Happold and Liva Insurance. This list matters because the programme is pairing technology providers with organisations that have operational use cases; it does not mean each company has already secured a paying customer or government contract. The accelerator itself began at the Dubai Airshow in November 2025, while this October announcement concerns the selection and next pilot phase.
