Dubai Finance said on 9 October that its final report on the Dubai Cashless Strategy showed the cashless transaction index at 90.1%, above the 90% target set for 2026 and reached ahead of the planned two-year timetable. The government sector’s Digital Enablement Index stood at 100%, while the community happiness index was also 90.1%.

The report said cashless-payment initiatives had contributed more than AED8 billion to Dubai’s economy. Completion across the roadmap’s pillars was 97% for governance, 95% for society and 93% for innovation; cashless collections made up 99.66% of government collections in the first half of 2026. Dubai Finance said the transaction index draws on data from the UAE Central Bank, payment acquirers, international networks and relevant government entities.
