# Delhi-NCR activates first GRAP stage as air quality worsens

> India’s Commission for Air Quality Management invoked the first stage of the Graded Response Action Plan across Delhi-NCR after Delhi’s air-quality index reached 244 at 2 p.m. and 245 at 4 p.m. on October 21. The release classifies readings from 201 to 300 as “poor.”

The commission directed agencies to implement, monitor and review 25 actions covering construction dust, waste, traffic and public transport. The measures apply across the National Capital Region. The release does not report their effect on air quality after the order.
