# Buffalo study finds higher food-prescription use with home delivery

> The University at Buffalo described a 12-week randomised study on 15 October involving 67 adults over 65 who experienced food insecurity. Redemption, defined as preparing and consuming the produce, reached 89.2% in groups receiving fresh produce or meal kits at home, compared with 28.3% in the voucher-and-market control group.

The study appeared in Frontiers in Public Health in September. Its findings concern food-prescription use in a small sample, not an equivalent reduction in disease. Corresponding author Lucia Leone co-founded delivery provider FreshFix; adding meal kits did not further improve produce use.
