Brazil Potash said X-ray transmission sorting tests using artificial-intelligence-assisted analysis indicated that about 20% of the tested lower-grade mineralized material could be screened out before the processing plant at its Autazes potash project in Amazonas, Brazil. The company said this could potentially free plant capacity for higher production or extend mine life.

The result applies to test samples, not the full deposit or a demonstrated operating plant. Brazil Potash said additional testwork and technical and economic studies would be needed after commercial production begins to assess whether the technology could be incorporated into Autazes.
