Borealis Mining set a fiscal 2027 production target of 15,250 to 19,250 ounces of gold at its Borealis Mine near Hawthorne, Nevada. The guidance, released October 22, covers August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027. The company expects most output to come from the Deep Ore Flats pit, supplemented by East Ridge and Freedom Flats, following the restart of open-pit mining earlier in 2026.

The operating plan calls for about 6.0 million short tons of total material to be mined, including 1.77 million tons of mineralized material. Borealis expects to place 717,960 tons of crushed material and 1,055,850 tons of run-of-mine material on heap-leach pads. Run-of-mine material bypasses crushing; the company says the change is intended to relieve crusher bottlenecks and expand material placed under leach without requiring a matching increase in crusher throughput.

The approach introduces uncertainty as well as flexibility. Borealis says selected run-of-mine material may recover gold more slowly or at a lower ultimate rate than crushed material, and that test work may not predict performance at operating scale. Production during the year may include gold recovered from material stacked earlier, while some gold in material placed during fiscal 2027 may be recovered later. The company plans to monitor recovery and leach performance and adjust which material it sends to the pads.

Borealis also plans engineering and permitting for a new heap-leach pad designed for 8 million to 12 million short tons of stacking capacity, with construction dependent on approvals, and upgrades to its adsorption, desorption and recovery facility. The company cautions that the Borealis Mine has no current NI 43-101 mineral resource or reserve estimate and no supporting preliminary, pre-feasibility or feasibility study. It says the production plan relies on internal modelling and carries higher technical and economic uncertainty; the guidance is management's forecast, not a demonstrated production outcome.

The operating table makes the waste burden more visible than the rounded headline. Borealis forecasts 6,012,170 short tons mined in total, of which 1,773,800 are mineralized and 4,238,360 are waste; its stated strip ratio is 2.4 to 1. These figures describe material movement, not recoverable gold or a reserve. They help explain why the guidance depends on how much material can be processed and placed on the pads, while the company has not published a current mine resource or reserve estimate.

The planned plant work is aimed at handling the leach circuit after material reaches the pads. Borealis lists stripping-vessel, electrowinning-cell and furnace capacity among the intended adsorption, desorption and recovery upgrades. The release gives no completed engineering design, construction authorization or commissioning date for these upgrades. Its recovery warning also concerns timing as well as total yield: gold from earlier stacked material can contribute to fiscal 2027 output, while material placed during that year may continue leaching after the fiscal period ends.

## Data

### Borealis fiscal 2027 operating guidance

Management guidance for the twelve months ending July 31, 2027 at the Borealis Mine in Nevada.

Methodology: Company guidance, not realized production. The fiscal year runs from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027; the release says production timing and recovery depend on operating and metallurgical conditions. The mine has no current NI 43-101 mineral resource or reserve estimate or supporting economic study. Background context from separate dated official filings or agency pages is identified in the article and is not presented as part of the new announcement.
