Municipal consumer-protection agency Procon and the Civil Police joined operations in the city. ANP said the seizures involved businesses operating without its authorisation, which were temporarily shut. Inspections covered fuel quality, pump-measured volume, equipment and documentation. The agency said it now refers suspected abusive pricing to consumer-protection bodies because it no longer has direct authority to issue fines for that conduct.
