# Canadian cattle CEO focuses on getting research adopted on farms

Canadian Cattle Association CEO Andrea Brocklebank told Livestock Gentec in a May 28 interview that scientific research should inform industry policy and farm practices. She said findings need to reach producers in practical, manageable steps that fit their workloads and decisions.

Brocklebank said planned federal agricultural research cuts pose a challenge and universities could not fill the gap from existing budgets. She also described the Beef Cattle Research Council portfolio as supporting more than 100 projects at a time; that figure is her statement in the interview, not an independently audited inventory.
