# CEAs Tokamak WEST betreibt erstes ECRH-Gyrotron am Plasma

Das Institut für Fusionsforschung mit magnetischem Einschluss (IRFM) der französischen Kommission für alternative Energien und Atomenergie teilte am 9. Oktober mit, dass das Elektron-Zyklotron-Resonanzheizsystem seines Tokamaks WEST mit dem ersten Gyrotron am Plasma betrieben wurde. Das Institut bezeichnete dies als Schritt hin zur Einspeisung von 3 MW Mikrowellenleistung bei 105 GHz.

Laut IRFM erreichte die Testkampagne Pulse mit 800 kW für eine Sekunde. Ein zweites Gyrotron wurde installiert, befindet sich aber noch in der Qualifizierung. Die 3 MW sind daher ein Ziel für das entstehende System und keine aktuelle Leistung.
